“HERMAN IS
SO CUTE.”

— Jenny, approximately 1,000 times a day.

Herman: “Obviously.”
“But today isn’t actually about me…”

Jenny
The wonderful world of Jenny

Organized. Quirky.
Very, very Jenny.

A highly structured city girl with excellent hair, a suspiciously strong opinion on almost everything, and one extremely spoiled dog.

The Jenny Operating System

Runs on plans, details & Diet Coke.

Jenny notices the tiny things everyone else misses. She is punctual, organized, meticulous… and somehow all of those powers disappear the second a charging cable gets involved.

And then there’s this Jenny. ❤️

Jenny has always been Jenny

Dork level:
established early.

While other kids were dressing up as Barbie… Jenny chose Mother Teresa. Because apparently doing her own thing started very early.

A city with an unusually strong fan club of one

etroit has her heart. ❤️

Some people have a favorite city. Jenny has Detroit. Honestly, she may be the city’s unofficial tourism department.

Now, the co-star

Meet Herman.

Herman
Farm baby. City dog. Professional attention seeker. Full-time Mama’s boy.

Adopted by Jenny at about 6–8 weeks old, Herman went from farm puppy to full-blown downtown Cincinnati dog. He loves people, wants all the pets, and seems to believe play mode should never be turned off.

⚡ Energy: 11/10 ❤️ Pets required: unlimited 👤 Favorite person: Mom 🚙 Transport: 🐾 / 🦘 🦴 Treats: lamb + fish 🥬 Food philosophy: Health nut in a fur coat.
He eats his veggies like it’s his full-time job. Loves salad, claims he’s “cutting” (he’s not).
Carrots, sweet potatoes, lettuce… the crunchier, the better!
The Voice of Herman

Apparently Herman talks.

Not his actual voice, obviously. Jenny took care of that. When we come home, Herman hears the footsteps, runs to the door, and little legs appear under it…

“Hello... is that my mommy coming back?” 🐶

The Great “Put That Down, Herman” Era

When Herman first moved to the city, apparently everything on the ground needed to go into his mouth. Pick it up. Jenny notices. Spit it out. Walk five feet. Repeat. Jenny’s version: “Herman! DROP IT.” Herman’s version: “Excellent. Mom is paying attention to me again.”

He eventually retired from that hobby. He did not retire from being hand-fed by Jenny after work.

NO DAYS OFF.
WELL… ALMOST.

Jenny loves her workouts. Herman loves Jenny.

Apparently, even gym time is still Herman time.

Newest family member, sort of

New car. Same boss.

Jenny’s people

Friends, family & the usual suspects.

For a homebody, Jenny has a pretty full world around her. Once she likes you, good luck getting rid of her.

Love for planning

Plan A. Plan B. Plan C.

Jenny plans. Details matter. Routes matter. Timing matters. And every once in a while, all that planning produces something unexpectedly perfect.

The Quiznos Detour.
Jenny loves planning fun surprises along the way. And sometimes that means finding one of the last remaining Quiznos in the middle of nowhere and somehow turning it into part of the adventure.

Because that’s how much Jenny loves to plan — even the detours are planned.
The Jenny Files

Occasional chaos from an otherwise extremely organized person.

Jenny may have Plan A, Plan B and Plan C. Every once in a while, reality invents Plan D.

Jenny tried to push me into the pool. There was just one small problem with the plan: I pushed back. The face in the photo says the rest.

The Horror Movie Files

Part I: Empty theater. Just the two of us. Scary movie. Jenny was so creeped out that apparently I was not permitted to use the restroom without an escort. Every. Single. Time.

Part II: We somehow tried another scary movie. An alarm went off, everyone evacuated through strange back hallways, and the theater turned the evening into a live-action maze.

Two theaters. Two incidents. Zero lessons learned.

The Great Motel Deal

After 10–12+ hours driving back from Minneapolis, Jenny found a fantastic motel deal. One minor issue: she was too scared of the motel she booked to sleep. I checked under beds and in closets. Plan A was technically successful.

Loose ball. Jenny assumes I’m about to sprint for it. I am, in fact, standing completely still. Jenny takes off anyway, slips, mildly offends her pinky, and leaves me wondering what exactly just happened.

Every once in a while, underneath all that planning, Jenny pulls out an absolutely wild move nobody saw coming.

And then there was us
On paper? Questionable.
In practice? Somehow it works.

We met on Hinge a little over two and a half years ago. Jenny plans everything. I’m more “we’ll figure it out.” What I lack, she brings into my life. What she lacks, I bring into hers. Somewhere between those two approaches, we found a rhythm.

Somehow, this keeps happening. Me making her laugh. Her making me laugh harder. And neither of us remembering what was so funny.

ONE LAST THING...
🎂

Happy Birthday, Jenny ❤️

Jenny

More than anything, I hope this year brings you the happiest version of your life.

In the time I’ve known you, I’ve watched you grow so much — personally, professionally, and in so many other ways. Through all the ups, downs, and changes along the way, you’ve handled more than you probably give yourself credit for.

You’re stronger and more capable than you realize, and I’m really proud of everything you’ve accomplished and excited for everything that’s still ahead of you.

And since this entire website has established that you are a woman who appreciates a plan… Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, and probably a backup plan for the backup plan — I have one tiny birthday suggestion:

Sometimes… maybe… just maybe…
don’t overthink it. 😂

You’re going to end up on top of the world before you know it.

And when you get there…

please try not to make an itinerary for it. 😂❤️

Happy Birthday. 🎂🥂🍾
I love you. ❤️
